Infinity Blade II

Infinity Blade, the titan-slaying game that took iPhone gaming by storm, is back with its first sequel.

Infinity Blade II

Fans looking for more action will not be disappointed – Infinity Blade II is bigger and better than its predecessor.

Like the first installment, it lets players take on the role of a hero who engages in a series of one-on-one battles with giant foes as he wanders through a dilapidated castle.

This sequel also features great-looking visuals – everything from the characters to the castle environment are beautifully rendered.

While the first game was almost devoid of a storyline, Infinity Blade II keeps players intrigued with one that is full of mystery.

The hero from both games finally gets a name – Siris. Several scenes in the game also provide answers and the background to events that happened in the first game. Voice acting has also been introduced this time.

The Black Eyed Peas Experience

Apparently, I know a lot more songs by The Black Eyed Peas than I realized.

And this knowledge will determine how much players will enjoy this The Black Eyed Peas Experience game.

The Black Eyed Peas Experience

Presented as a concert of their songs performed in different locations, players join the band on stage to dance with the quartet.

The scoring here is slightly different: players need to match the moves of the group to gain fans in order to win and each song has a pre-determined number of fans that players need to obtain.

Once players reach the correct number, they can progress to the next one on the 30-plus song setlist in campaign mode. If you do not win any fans after performing a move, it means you have made a mistake.

Visually, this game is vastly different from the first Experience dance title, Michael Jackson.

Just Dance Kids 2

Holding the PlayStation (PS) Move controller while dancing may seem like you are holding on to a maracas, but it does not feel right.

While the Xbox 360′s Kinect sensor uses a camera and sensor to detect full body movements, the PS Move tracks peripheral movements and totally overlooks movements from the rest of your body.

Just Dance Kids 2

This means players can cheat by ignoring the actual dance steps and focus solely on the hand gestures.

But when it comes to children’s games, holding something makes a little more sense as children may lack spatial awareness and are less likely to hit the other players if their hands are weighed down.

Just Dance Kids 2, a children-centric dance game, removes all the wild and sensual dance moves and replaces them with arm swings, jumps and slower steps.

Aside from the occasional pop tunes like Blur’s Song 2 and Bruno Mars’ Just The Way You Are, the majority of the 40-plus songs are pitched at youngsters, from tunes by Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber to classics like Are You Sleeping, Itsy Bitsy Spider and Jingle Bells.

Dance Central 2

In many ways, Dance Central 2 is a great improvement over the original but falls short of the greatness that made the first one so popular.

Dance Central 2

The enhancements here are plenty: The Dance Central 2 game now allows for two dancers to simultaneously compete in a dance and the various moves to the song flow better, giving the game a more energetic spin to it.

In the two-player mode, there is the drop-in, drop-out feature where players can pop in any time during a song for a few spins before leaving, all without interrupting the game.

In the spirit of sportsmanship, both dancers can pick an individual level of difficulty to dance to. This way, they do not have to sacrifice fun simply because their dance partner prefers something faster or slower.

Just Dance 3

If the measure of a good dance game is the songs you want to dance to, then Just Dance 3 has that in spades.

Just Dance 3

If you have not heard of the game, you are not alone.

The first two games were exclusive Nintendo Wii titles, which used the motion controllers to register movements.

But with the arrival of Kinect and the PlayStation (PS) Move controllers, Ubisoft’s breakout hit has finally received the high-definition upgrade and mass recognition it deserves.

Unlike the PlayStation 3 version that has players hold motion controllers, the Kinect version for the Xbox 360 no longer requires controllers and the Kinect sensor now ‘reads’ the player’s entire body movements for scoring purposes.

This means you cannot stand still and wave your arms to gain points, and this is also why the Kinect is the superior platform for dancing games, compared to the PS Move, which measures only hand gestures.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

How many ways can you make the bad guys go boom?

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) is proof that ideas are running out. Unleashing fire from the sky through surgical missile strikes may sound cool but this method was already available in the last installment of the game. The futuristic weapons in this edition is still fun. Assault rifles such as the M4A1 and AK-47 have variants with a sniper scope which give new meaning to all-in-one weaponry.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

So, you can shoot from the hip while on the run or hit the right mouse button or left trigger to aim, using the scope for greater accuracy. You have two levels of zoom for the scope with some guns, one that offers greater accuracy while maintaining a wide-angle of vision and the other which zooms in for the shot to the enemy’s head.

Riding shotgun with a giant machine-gun, bursting into a room while the game goes slow-motion for you to take out five bad guys while keeping the hostage alive are great ways to have fun, but they are certainly not new.
