With Sports Champions, you have to move your arms with controller in hand to control your video game character.
This plays a lot like Wii Sports for the Nintendo Wii platform, which is disappointing. I had been expecting a more ground-breaking launch game from Sony for its motion-sensing controller Move.
Sports Champions is effectively Wii Sports with better graphics and greater precision, due to the more advanced Move controllers.
The game includes table tennis, disc golf and bocce, all of which make use of one controller.
There is also archery, gladiator duel and volleyball games, which allow the use of dual controllers for each player for greater precision and control.

Archery is my favourite game of the lot. However, I actually prefer to use one controller because in this mode, it is a game of crossbow where I simply aim and shoot at the targets.
Gladiator duel is fun to play with an opponent, as you can block with your shield and attack with your sword from the side. The key of this game is determining where to block and when to strike.
With the Move controller more responsive than the Wii-mote, Sports Champions is more fun than Wii Sports. After a while, however, all the swinging, chopping and hitting become repetitive.
My other quibble is that while there is a Career mode, you cannot upgrade your statistics and the character you start with is the same one you eventually end the game with.
Yet, your game opponents tend to become faster and more powerful as you progress, which basically means the game just throws stronger players at you.
