The PS3 is over rated…There is all this talk of Xbox 360 RRoD, but what about PS3? My PS3, all of a sudden stopped reading any media. It’s a little over two years old and I really took care of it. Now, I have to pay $150 to get it repaired…Microsoft did not charge anything to fix my 360. The more people that i talk to, the more I realize that the PS3 is not very reliable. I paid $400 for a device, to last two years…

Not only was I completely underwhelmed by the menus and the chunkiness of the GUI… I wasted the better part of two days trying to get it to connect to my wireless network and to the Sony remote purchased separately. I did a number of searches on tech support sites and was on the phone with Verizon with no solution at hand. While it is likely I got a defective unit, there are a number of people extremely frustrated with the difficulty in setting these up to a wireless network. If you cannot run an Ethernet to the back – proceed with caution. Note – my kids have a wii and I was able to set that up in under 10 minutes and it works flawlessly with our home network.

  3. I’ve never had such a bad experience as I did this time on Amazon.com. I ordered this PS3 for my son’s birthday. Paid $300 and got absolutely nothing. I am now waiting for Amazon to get my money back. Needless to say, I am very hesitant to ever do business again on Amazon.com. It only takes one very bad experience to make you wary of doing this kind of transaction ever again.

Considering you can get a 250GB hdd for $50 this really isnt a good deal, you’re much better off getting the 120GB and saving yourself some money. 120GB is actually a ton of space anyways and most people are hard pressed to even fill half of that.

My new Ps3 250g had arrived on Christmas Eve with great excitement. Turn on the power button for the first time and receive this error message “The hard disk’s file system is corrupted and will be restored” and then it asks me to format the hard drive. During the formatting process the system freezes at 99%. I’d tried formatting the harddrive 3-4 times but still recieved the same error messages.

On Christmas day, I’d called Sony Playstation 3 tech support, and we went through a series of troubleshooting (no luck). The sony technician was unable to fix my issue therefore they will be sending out a prepaid package to my house so I can mail my console back to be fix/repair. He also mention that this error message only occur for use system, and not brand new system. (Did amazon send me a used ps3 after I pay for a new one) What really upset me the most… is that I had purchased a brand new console and I got a defective system in return. Also, the tech stated that If Sony could not fix my Ps3 then they will send me a Certified Approve System (NOT A BRAND NEW ONE THAT I PURCHASED FOR STRAIGHTOUT OF THE FACTORY) but a used one, a pre-owned system. That doesn’t seem fair to me. I am not happy

“Side note” I will try to return this item back to amazon for a replacement beside Sony.
