Pros: Addition of the 4 Player Squad Death Match, Different Maps, and not much else.

Cons: Horrible Controls, Cartoonish Graphics (Guns look like a piece of wood, buildings are not genuine, and the scenery looks not very crisp), Kill Cam, “Epic Fail,” Knife Stabbing Motion, Kit Packs, No Air Strike Control, No Specialist or Support Kit, Tried to replicate COD, Too much sniping, Gun Sights, wouldnt be EA without a few drop servers, too many dog tags, thousand point scoring system, directionals for gadgets and secondary weapons, UAV, and etc… All we read for months was how great desctuction 2.0 is going to be. I have seen only only buildings roof come down.

This sequel is a game you play for a few days and forget it. Dice tried to do too much and there isn’t one part of the game they did really well. Just not as enjoyable as the $20.00 orginal. If you want a better investment purchase the first one and save your money.

This game is a complete joke. I bought it after reading reviews saying it is right up there with MW2. Not even in the same league. Complete waste of time and money. STAY AWAY!!!

    Review intended for BFBC1 users:

Multi-Player (using Limited edition and Trail):

    - Horrible Connectivity: 4-10 times more connection drops compared to previous release. Avegrage online 2mins-5Mins Max. Compared to BFBC-1: average 30-45Mins+. Also, it is hard to get back to the team/sesssion you were in earlier (unlike BFBC-1).

    - In order to increase the overall resolution the whole environment looks perplexing.

    - It just doesn’t seems 1/2 as convincing (realism) compared to BF-BC1 sessions (online version)

    - The new Milee motion is a sludge hammer motion

    - No catchy sound bites (not even after winning a session)(Now what were’s gonna do!). Now you see a pathetic/artificial looking F.Plane going down or some copters flying out.

    - Total disappointment for BF-BC-1 online gamers (actually, enjoyed going back to playing BF-BC-1 online)

Rent it before you buy it. Trail session is online only and weakest clarify (snowy session).

Single Player: If I had to rate the single player, I would rate it higher (4*’s). It is quiet exciting and entertaining. Designed more like the uncharted series with a story line. On the downside – way to many F* words. The rating has gone up from BFBC-1:TV14(teen) to BFBC-2:TV17+(Mature).

    Update:

If you are lucky to get to be online (without dropping out), the multiplayer RUSH mode is acceptable.

Once you get to 10th+ ranking, you get no clue who and from where someone sniped you.

The BFBC2 online is a complete failure as of March 10th. Waiting for patch on PS3. Read reviews on PC version and XBOX for 1 and 2* rating.

  4. EA will take you money as they did mine, and give you a half finished game with bugs, server disconnects, bad interface and user experience, soo.. in the online There is a problem in the server and a lot of mistakes, for example

1-When you choose weapons there delay switch

2-When you enter the building you find yourself outside the building

3-When you use the knife you need to hit the enemy twice to kill him and some times once

4- the game need to be updated

5-single player mode is in just over 3 hours

in 12th March, and Saturday, 13th March EA install extra hardware to improve your online experience

sooo… There is no change .

At this time do not buy until problems are fixed.

I bought this game for the online action. I was disappointed.

    Here are my reasons:

1.)The controls are not fluid & precise. There seems to be a lag in how your man reacts to your inputs via the controller. Also, basic movements which were very easy to make in MW2 such as an ‘abrupt 45 degree veering to the right or left while running forward’ cannot be made in a fluid way in Battlefield Bad Company 2. Because of this you get the feeling of not being in full control of the movements & you also get the impression that the game is frustratingly slow bcus your man doesn’t react immediately to your inputs. In MW2 you were able to move about quickly, effortlessly, & in a precise manner without any ‘obvious’ difficultly. But this is not the case in Battlefield Bad Company 2. You feel slow & limited even in your basic movements, & all of this affects your fighting in a bad way. It is especially annoying & noticeable if you came from MW2. This is the biggest problem for me…

2.) The graphics look pixelated & is not as clean looking as MW2 for example, & definitely is not an improvement when considering that this is a new game that came out in 2010.

3.) Waiting to respawn after getting killed can be annoying.

4.)The on-screen interface for choosing your weapons, perks, etc. for me doesn’t seem to be more advanced in Design or Usability when compared to some other games like MW2 or other series of CoD. I expected to see improvements or something new, but…

5.)There is an annoying lag in the sound effects(eg. when you are making your way through shrubs…). This lag in sound delivery causes you to hear things half a second ‘after’ you make contact with environmental elements. When this happens you tend to mistakenly think that an enemy has approached you from behind & has caused the sound. Very annoying defect & not a help in a battle.

6.)The haptic effects felt through the controller is also not quite up to, for example, MW2 standards. It seems less detailed & realistic. Even ‘CoD World at War’ seems to be better. Thus, while using many of your weapons(not all) you feel somewhat detached from them & not in full control & tend to get the impression that you are not getting what you used to get in some other FPS games. This in turn makes the whole fighting experience somewhat numb & uninvolving at times. As a whole, haptic feedback in Battlefield Bad Company 2 doesn’t seem to deliver any real improvements or clear satisfaction when, for example, compared to ‘Cod World at War’ or ‘MW2′.

7.)Not sure why they left out the prone position.Prone postition is one of the main positions in shooting for soldiers along with standing, kneeling, & sitting positions. Leaving this position out is very disappointing & shows that the ‘basics’ of a realisitc FPS have not been taken care of properly.

Although majority of gamers may still be able to enjoy this game by ‘getting used to’ the shortcomings & by appreciating the obvious advantages & improvements explained already by the other reviewers here…, for some people who may have higher expectations, Battlefield Bad Company 2 could be disappointing in the areas that mattter to them & these buyers may not have the patience to compromise.

Try the game before buying. Hope this review helps you in deciding, along with the other more positive reviews…
