Three new expansions for Final Fantasy XI due in 2010
JAPANESE gaming company Square Enix on Sunday announced three new expansions that will be coming this year to its eight-year-old online role-playing game, Final Fantasy XI (FFXI).
Priced at US$10 each, the three expansions are set to be released simultaneously in all markets for all platforms, GamePro.com reported. With FFXI about to enter its eighth year of existence, the amount of fan support the game continues to receive is nothing short of phenomenal.

Not only does the game still inspire fan conventions like the annual VanaFest, but the developers are also still creating new content for players to partake in.
Square Enix announced the three new scenario add-ons at this year’s VanaFest in Tokyo. The three packs will be released in all territories simultaneously, and will be available on all three FFXI platforms: PC, PlayStation 2, and Xbox 360.
The three expansions will be named Vision Of Abyssea, Scars Of Abyssea, and Heroes Of Abyssea, with the first expansion (Vision) due this summer.
Players must have already acquired two previous expansion packs – Rise Of The Zilart and Wings Of The Goddess – to
access these three new add-ons.
The question is: Are fans looking forward to exploring the new parts of the world, or are they already turning their attention to Square Enix’s next online roleplaying game, Final Fantasy XIV?
